WITH THE INCREASED GLOBAL DEMAND FOR OIL AND GAS, UNDISCOVERED AREAS OF THE WORLD SHOULD BE OPENED UP TO ACCESS MORE RESOURCES.
Demand for oil and gas are reaching heights as their consumption has hiked and exploring the undiscovered areas of the world to gain more resources will do no good to the mankind. In my perspective, humankind should reduce their oil and gas consumption as it is contributing to air, land and water pollution.
Advancements are increasing in day to day life of a man as we progress towards the future and with this natural resources are depleting which will result in their extinction. Per capita intake of oil and gas has increased so much that it has resulted in loss of oil reservoirs. Oil is mostly consumed in automobiles and every second person in this world owns a car or a motorbike which requires oil or gas to run and in return it leaves a trail of carbon-monoxide behind which has detrimental effects.
Moreover, oil and gas are also damaging our ecosystem by polluting the environment. Many species of moths have disappeared due to polluted air and other species mutated naturally as they developed a tolerance to such a toxic environment. Other than this several diseases like development of Tuberculosis has increased in humans. Water pollution has also increased as many oil refineries release the waste oil into the water and due to this aquatic life is harmed.
Concluding to this, undiscovered areas are conserved and untouched with comparatively slight to nil pollution so they should not be opened up to access more resources. However, people can shift onto electric vehicles in order to conserve and protect our natural resources.
