Some believe that it is beneficial to show foreign films while others feel this can have a negative impact on local culture. Discuss both views.

Hollywood movies are amazing to watch because they portray society in their true form. Watching foreign movies is a great way to learn how the foreign culture works. It can have certain negative impact on today’s generation. But in my perspective the positive outcome is more valuable.

The movies that are made abroad are more realistic and are mostly based on real life which shows the foreign culture in its true light, as to how people are treated in this culture and how the society reacts to certain situations when it happens abroad. For instance, in Bollywood movies there is more drama and fiction, but Hollywood movies like Anabelle, Titanic depict real life events. One can notice the difference in the way the movies impact the audience in both the cultures. The reactions also differ.

Looking at the other side, foreign movies sometimes depict obscene scenes which should have an age barrier as the children might get distracted due to the same and learn things for which they might be young at that particular time. Some Hollywood action movies depict too much violence which again needs to be controlled as the children grasp things fast and this might lead them to become more aggressive in nature. The cultural differences should be depicted, but in a subtle way. Showing too much violence is also not good as the audience comprises of all age groups and this can have a negative impact on some.  For the adults it is fine as they do not get affected much by it.

To reiterate, just like a coin, there are two sides of watching Hollywood movies; it has its positive as well as negative side. The audience should watch such movies, but not too much. Learning about the cultural differences is good but excess of anything is bad.
