IELTS Cue Cards are prompts used in the speaking section of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam. Each cue card contains a topic or task, along with some guiding questions or points to help the test taker respond. These cards are designed to stimulate spontaneous speech and assess the candidate’s ability to express themselves fluently, coherently, and accurately in English. Test takers are typically given one to two minutes to prepare their response before speaking for one to two minutes on the topic provided. Cue cards cover a wide range of subjects, from personal experiences and opinions to abstract concepts and societal issues, allowing examiners to evaluate candidates’ language proficiency across various contexts
